Hello, I'm Cliff O'Dell and I'd like to thank you for your interest in Cliff O'Dell Handmade Knives. I'm a member of The Knifemakers' Guild and the Texas Knifemakers and Collectors Association.

My Motivation

I've always enjoyed collecting, using and working on knives, however college and an Air Force career kept me from serious pursuit of the field. After retiring from the Air Force in 1999, I began collecting knives in earnest and in 2003, began making my own knives full time. This site is intended to show the versatility and quality of my work, and is not inclusive of all models that I offer. The knives shown in the Knife Gallery are but a few of my standard designs and most are available in right, or left handed models.

My Technique

Using ancient, as well as state of the art materials, I offer folding knives of my own design with liner lock mechanisms; my specialty is Gents' folding knives. Many of my knives are one of a kind, and will not be duplicated. Each knife is constructed, by me, and made from a variety of steels: carbon, stainless, and other maker's specialty damascus. My blades are ground from raw bar stock using the stock removal method.

Business Policies

Customer designs are accepted on a commission basis. I'll work with you to make it to your specifications, with a required 20% deposit. To order, you can either call, E-mail , or U.S. mail me with the model that you want. If it is not in inventory, a deposit will be taken and I will give you a tentative date of shipment. As my workload continues to increase, I'm having to offer longer delivery times. So that you may have an opportunity to purchase a knife from me without having to wait, I set aside time to make pieces that will be offered directly via my web site; these knives will be available for immediate delivery and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
